While I doubt that this is the best MMORPG I've ever played, it's still the only one that still catches me playing after 1 year! The world of Runescape is a world which improves all the time, new features, creatures, buildings, quests and people make this game never boring.

I'm a Runescape fanatic, along with thousands of other players and I must say, I'm getting better all the time. This game is based on alot of skills, like attack, defense, strength, hitpoints, cooking, fishing, mining, smithing, firemaking, woodcut and alot more! Your combat level is the only level visible to all and it's based on all of your combat skills, those are ranged attacks, magic, attack, defense, strength and hitpoints.

Getting better by improving your character's skills can be a very boring job. This can mean you will have to get 1500 coal out of a few rocks or things like that. Still, when you have the skills, you will thank the god of Runescape (Saradomin) on your knees, because it's very good to have combat or other skills. The goal of every Runescape player is to get strong and rich and if there wouldn't have been some rules, the game would have been very nasty. Though, fighting players is forbidden outside of the Wilderness and in the Wilderness you can only fight people that differ as much from you in combat level as your Wilderness level tells you to. Further into the Wilderness (or by some players referred to as "wildy") the Wilderness levels will get higher and you can fight more people.

It's a world with a very wide range of choices and a good fantasy level which you could soon get addicted to, or not. Morrowind fanatics will probably want to see more graphical elements and better gameplay, I like it this way. Recommended, if you're into simple RPG or maybe even if you're into text RPG...

There are 2 versions of play, free and members. Members give you more options, but free is good if you'd like to check it out! Though, if you don't feel like paying, the free world is big enough to stay in for quite a while. Like, 5 years ;)
